TRIAD, Oct 06, 2007 (High Point Enterprise - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) — NVS | charts | news | PowerRating — Some Kerr Drug customers won’t have to wait at the end of the line for their flu shots. Kerr Drug is partnering with Novartis Vaccines to introduce FluGram, a $30 prepaid influenza vaccination gift card that allows people to reserve influenza vaccinations before and during the flu season. The cards will be available during October and November at all participating Kerr Drug pharmacies. Flu season runs from October through April.
The program is aimed at people who may not get a flu shot on their own, but would accept a gift.
“By making it easier to get an influenza vaccination, Kerr Drug is helping to protect the health of our customers and their families,” said Diane Eliezer, director of marketing for Kerr Drug.
Eligible children must be accompanied by an adult. Influenza vaccinations may not prevent the disease in 100 percent of individuals. An inoculation takes up to two weeks to attain full strength. “The influenza vaccination is the best protection we have to help prevent the spread of this contagious disease,” Eliezer said.
