Las Vegas, NV – BAI Retail Delivery Conference and Expo – November 14,
2007— ClairMail, Inc., the leader in 2-way mobile phone-based customer
interaction, and mFoundry, the leading provider of mobile financial services,
today formally announced a strategic partnership at the BAI Retail Delivery
Conference & Expo. The two companies are teaming up to offer the industry’s
most comprehensive mobile banking service that includes the “triple play” of
mobile user interfaces – messaging (SMS and email), mobile web and client
applications.
Last month, BB&T Corporation (NYSE: BBT) was announced as the first bank
customer <http://www.clairmail.com/news-and-events/pressreleases/
2007/1016.php> to sign up for mobile banking services through this
strategic alliance. The joint solution offers speed to market, flexibility and
customization, making it appealing to both financial institutions of all sizes and to
leading technology providers.
“Today’s agreement underscores our belief that banks need to offer a number of
mobile banking options to their customers,” said Drew Sievers, CEO of
mFoundry. “ClairMail’s messaging, mobile web and unique 2-way capabilities
combined with mFoundry’s feature-rich Spotlight mBanking application will give
banks an easy solution that addresses all mobile banking formats.”
The companies will co-market and sell an enhanced, combined solution which
integrates the ClairMail System’s mobile banking and payments platform and
applications with mFoundry’s Spotlight client-based application – delivering with
a single implementation all three user interface types available for mobile
banking, commerce and payments. The ClairMail platform also provides the
integration, management and 2-way functionality to extend the capabilities of all
three modalities, including the mFoundry application.
Additionally, the ClairMail platform’s alerting engine can integrate with a bank’s
core systems to enable user-defined 2-way actionable alerts. Bank customers
will be empowered to set preferences for the type (e.g. low or zero balance,
overdraft or cleared check alerts), frequency (e.g. automatically receive balances
at the end of the day or week) and threshold (e.g. alerts when withdrawals or
deposits exceed a specified amount) of alerts, and receive them in real-time.
Given the 2-way nature of actionable alerts, bank customers will be able to
resolve issues using their mobile phone, such as to transfer funds in response to
a low balance alert.
“mFoundry’s industry-acclaimed mBanking application has been selected by
leading banks and wireless operators around the globe for its rich functionality,
strong security and easy distribution and maintenance,” said Joseph Salesky,
CEO of ClairMail. “By bringing it together with the ClairMail System, we are
providing banks of all sizes with the most comprehensive mobile banking solution
in the market today.”
The ClairMail/mFoundry solution empowers financial institutions to provide their
customers with a complete suite of 2-way mobile banking and payments services
– including actionable alerts, account balances, fund transfers, transaction
history, bill presentment and payment, ATM/branch locators and no-hold
customer service. To appeal to the most consumers and accelerate customer
adoption, these features are available across the “triple play” of mobile user
interface types.
