Sweepstakes Winner Gets Ten Times Value of Tax Refund

CINCINNATI, OH (September 24, 2007) UniRush Financial Services, the financial services company co-founded by media and business mogul Russell Simmons, has announced that Cynthia Williams, a cardholder of the company’s popular BabyPhat Prepaid Visa RushCard, has won the Visa National Tax Time Promotion. Created by Visa during the 2006 tax season, consumers depositing their Federal Tax refunds or refund anticipation loans to Visa prepaid debit cards were entered to win ten times their tax refund amount up to $25,000. Cynthia Williams won over $14,000, ten times the amount of her tax refund, after electing to have her tax refund direct deposited to her BabyPhat RushCard earlier this year.

“I heard that you could have your tax refund directly deposited to your RushCard, and knew it would be easier and faster than going through the pain of getting my tax refund in a check and trying to cash it without having a bank account,” said sweepstakes winner Cynthia Williams. “With the sweepstakes money, I can pay off some bills, and save the rest. This really came at a great time.”

“This past tax season, the Prepaid Visa RushCard saved unbanked consumers thousands of dollars in check cashing fees by enabling them to direct deposit their tax refund checks to the RushCard for free,” said Russell Simmons, Chairman of UniRush Financial Services.

Launched by Russell Simmons in 2003 to help people get the financial freedom, the Prepaid Visa RushCard offers individuals without traditional banking relationships a secure way to manage their money. For consumers who traditionally have their tax refund checks cashed at check cashing establishments, the RushCard eliminates both the high cost of check cashing fees and the need to carry around a large amount of cash. And while paper checks mailed by the Internal Revenue Service can take several weeks to arrive, consumers who have their refunds direct deposited to their RushCard can receive their refund within two weeks or less.
